Breannan Smith is a postdoctoral researcher at Pixar Animation
Studios. Breannan's work lies at the intersection of computer graphics
and animation and computational physics, with a current focus on
formulating robust physical models and simulation methods targeted at
character animation. Prior to joining Pixar, Breannan performed his
doctoral research at Columbia University where his work encompassed
topics from geometric mechanics applied to systems dominated by
collisions, to the simulation of elastoplastic materials, hair, and
clothing. Breannan completed his undergraduate work at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where his research focused on the
simulation of viscoelastic materials.
